ORIGINS, QUALIFICATIONS AND “FAIR USE"

drafted by central committee head emmitovich.
send suggestions for additions to greencheeseparty@hotmail.com. keep it short – that’s half the idea. the principle is there should be just a small core of words, not the distraction/regression of endless dialogue. web pages should be totally positive energy or high density information.

this is meant to be one big disturbing bite, but not too much to chew, a minimum list of cogent expressions and essential data points, not a thorough analysis. of course it’s mostly about the u.s.a., but there’s enough information here to allow it to be very easily generalized. it’s a list of facts and ides and not doctrine, hoping thereby to avoid the most common cause of so much disaffection from even the idea of change. facts only attain their true energy within the situation they describe, a complacent mind will feel all unfamiliar ideas are trivial. points are scattered throughout the text, whether in the diatribe, fact lists, comments to the reading list, pictures and captions, or large print –it’s the whole picture that sways the heart. not that we like mao, but it is a beautiful thought that the weathermen used to title their manifesto:

it only takes a spark to light a prairie fire.

the central committee will NOT organize or participate in actions. DIY!

we discourage actions on municipal property, it attracts the attention of authority instead of the common peep and has stiffer penalties, and personal property, no matter how richly it’s deserved. we need to establish a consistent vector. let others cross those lines – they’re surely out there.

"left leaning" people are always criticized as "biased." the the classic and only reply to this is what the heck is out there besides ignorance and conservatives?

this page is NOT intended as a “web presence”, it will not expand, except for revisions and non-english versions.
             this is

memory.

if you don’t recognize this button    or the expression "long hot summer,” if death at kent state university is just a vague historical fact, more than any reading list, almost, you need to get your bunns out the door.

you do know what the moon is made of, don’t you?

and,of course, we never make mistakes.

THE DOCTRINE OF “FAIR USE

lincoln quote, "give the people facts".
abraham lincoln

my sincerity is my credentials.”
- malcolm X

it is central to our purpose to use references and graphics from primarily main stream media, in order to show that the ideas involved are no longer marginal or the questionable hobby-horse of alternative groups.

this work will remain free to all. we have striven to give credits wherever we are aware of them.

peoples’ lives are more lastingly improved through ideas rather than through physical aid. few people read or take in new information, and fewer still attempt to form a coherent whole from what they learn. the picture we try to convey is formed by assembling in one place as many different ideas and sources as possible. the elimination of almost any part would critically effect the whole.

the graphics employed have several uses:
•    they interrupt any automatic or trivial comprehension.
•    they provide confirmation for ideas expressed in the writing, by showing that these ideas are not unique to the authors of this work.

the more extensive reproductions add essential elements to the structure as a whole:
•    information that is all but absolutely unique in the public record.
•    detailed descriptions, as different from brief generalities.
•    by their length, an emphasis of central issues that otherwise might be lost in what is by necessity an extensive work.
•    the personal perspectives and tone of expression, not of the author, but of second parties.
•    some of the long quotes have been extensively reworked.

we are not professionals in any sense but are aware that copyright may extend to not-for-profit use. as any publisher knows, seeking permissions can take years. there are many common reasons e-mails can go astray and authors and publishers can disappear or change affiliations.

if there are any complaints, talk to us first.

TITLE 17 > CHAPTER 1 > § 107
§ 107. Limitations on exclusive rights: Fair use
Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by
reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism,
comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an
infringement of copyright. In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the
factors to be considered shall include—

(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;

(2) the nature of the copyrighted work;

(3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and

(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.

The fact that a work is unpublished shall not itself bar a finding of fair use if such finding is made upon consideration of all the above factors.
