do these look like wild eyed anarchists to you? yet that is all that CORPORATE MEDIA focused on in the propagandized “battle in seattle,” the first large modern protest against the World Bank and other mammoth organizations intent on hiding their brutality. as mentioned below, this is one of many non-governmental groups FROM AROUND THE WORLD that were there, a cultural delegation from korea. the picture is from a flier distributed at A16, the subsequent protest in washington, d.c., in 2000.

also not publicized was footage from a fast food store security camera showing two policemen, dressed in full body armor, a la Star Wars, rousting a very elderly man as he hobbles from the store, pushing him back and forth between them.

the most heartening aspect of recent history is the genuine flowering of the impulse for change in many DIVERSE groups and sorts of individuals, as different from many social movements that have sprung from small groups or special interests and which have mostly been poorly focused, A FACTOR THAT HAS BEEN TOTALLY OBSCURED BY ESTABLISHMENT MEDIA, and under appreciated by movement sympathizers. people previously considered mainstream, people representing more obscure but prideful groups, a resurgence of interest by the very young, gatherings from  non-governmental representatives from all over the world, people given voice who previously were completely oppressed, the common person beginning to realize that economics is much more real than the sham of politics, educators and medical people wanting to be seen as more than voiceless service industries, people who choose many ways of expressing their dissatisfaction, overwhelmingly peaceful though many with violent drama, and others,

this is a phenomenon that must at all cost and with all energy BE RECOGNIZED AND ENCOURAGED. as a point of departure, if the "black block" can't see themselves as part of a vital spectrum, but insist on open insurrection, they’re fools for forgetting history - in the nineteen sixties there were millions of people in the streets, then the blue uniforms turn green, with bayonets, and everyone was herded into fenced enclosures, while the Panthers were gunned down one by one by laughing police. ideology is never flexible enough to deal with human nature, RESPECT FOR THE SPIRIT CANNOT BE REDUCED TO TERMS OF ECONOMICS. ideology like language focuses the mind, but there is only one heart, one end to childhood. the impulse for change MUST come from the people, from whatever background, by whatever path. DIVERSITY lends a SANITY that attracts more energy, is not just an aspect but the CRUX of any organizing that stands a chance of success. the true battleground is a confrontation of knowledge and drama, because, as has been said many times in history, the mass of people have no idea that their lives could be different, and are lulled to the TRULY EVIL that their QUIETNESS ALLOWS. there are no leaders without followers. naively focusing on demonstrations against authority makes as much sense as saying hitler alone killed six million jews. the point of the G.C.P. is to encourage people to be COMMITTED TO AFFECT OTHERS from their own setting, with the knowledge that history is basically foolish and painful. perspective is key, and drama of any sort focuses attention long enough to gain sufficient knowledge.

there has been enough witnessing of how wrong organizations can go. imagine: an afro-american preacher in the civil rights movement, almost old enough to remember slavery, subtly telling a women to keep her place. again, large organizations always are distracted from action by factionalism, mostly caused by egos. individual lives are upset from commitment to poorly thought out plans. over time leaders become both  lazy and are liable to infiltration. in the early part of the twentieth century the mass of the a.f.l.-c.i.o. rejected their leaders and took direct action. the yippies were busted by a person they all thought the silliest, the most far out. true humor should not come, as some would have it, just from a mental jar, a change in perspective, but from a rounded human warmth. there is no place for an organization, just the crying hunger for the day after the revolution.

THERE IS NO MORE TIME
thirty years ago there were over two hundred chemicals in your body that you didn’t get from your mom when you were born. today that number has increased to five hundred, and since we are at the

POWER, MONEY and a WITHERED SPIRIT
ALL GOVERNMENT and ALL IDEAS OF PROFIT, are based on the INDIVIDUAL GIVING CONTROL OF THEIR LIFE TO AN ORGANIZATION. a rounded view of history shows that no system of guarantees will control those in power, that therefore: ALL GOVERNMENTS TEND TOWARD BOTH TOTALITARIANISM AND WAR. also, few ideologies comprehend that PSYCHOLOGICAL DAMAGE IS THE EXACT EQUAL IN FORCE OF DIRECT OPPRESSION. feminism rose to show that in a thousand subtle ways a persons spirit can be BRUTALY BROKEN, and equally, how PERVASIVE is violence against women. as society becomes in each generation more centralized and artificial OUR SEPARATION FROM NATURE COMES TO SEEM NORMAL, and STRESS BUILDS IN INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES. all of these ideas have been revealed and obscured throughout history. the romans, with only their relatively primitive technology, stripped ENTIRE MOUNTAIN RANGES of their forests to build war ships, and THEY ARE STILL BARE. women entered industry supporting the second world war on all sides, then lost their jobs when the war was over, shoved back into poverty and, more importantly, OBSCURITY. throughout history slaves revolt only to become brutal masters of their own people. the most telling expression to emerge from A16 was

LEADERS OR GOVERNMENTS ARE HELD TO BE MORE WISE
than the average person, BUT THIS IS FAR, FAR FROM THE TRUTH. with revolutionary thoughts obscured we have returned to the days of a BLIND EYE TO MADNESS. nuclear war, the ultimate idiocy, is again commonly spoken of, while the racism and oppression that daily warps the world IS NEVER EVEN MENTIONED, the planet is horribly polluted, under the guise of healthy free enterprise a very few people are gaining control over the lives of millions, increasingly the rich the world over live in “fortress communities,” where food is a weapon and medical care a privilege, instead of the wonderful opening of the spirit through education at ever earlier ages the young are learning violence and endless distraction without purpose, consumers of "entertainments" and "adventures" that all have a price tag and never satisfy. ANY OUTRAGOUS LIE OR EMPTY RHETORIC a “leader” speaks is accepted without reflection or question. in the vietnam war, by the official statistics given to the press by the pentagon, the center of the u.s. military, casualties would have depopulated north vietnam almost THREE TIMES. not speculation, the most famous court case of the era was won by the major newspapers that revealed this. to anyone noticing the national news, apparently the POLICE FEEL FREE TO KILL WHOEVER THEY WANT, totally backed by states’ attorney generals, and the rate of murder is increasing. the current movement against the death penalty was partially motivated by a famous recent court case in which it was brought out that, in the entire history of the u.s.a. there has NOT BEEN EVEN ONE OVERTURNED CONVICTION of a cop killer. Hmmmmm, doesn’t seem likely does it?

to check. the earliest example was a hospital in australia where staph., the most common and usually benign infection, started KILLING people and circumventing ALL protocols. THE NATIONAL GUARD WAS CALLED TO SURROUND THE HOSPITAL TO PREVENT A PLAGUE. and genetic engineering, an extremely deep but totally new science, is being treated as sandbox play. it is PROVEN LONG AGO that d.n.a. can be transferred naturally, spreading artificial changes, and that the ultimate manifestation of artificial changes is totally beyond our present knowledge. a word on “mad cow” disease: pryons are a newly discovered form of disease, unique in not being itself a life form but a simple protein that forces other proteins to take deadly forms. its discoverer was laughed at for decades but eventually won a nobel prize. because of its simple nature it is extremely difficult to even detect, cannot be fought with ant-biotics and can survive temperatures of hundreds of degrees. as bizarre as it may seem because it is such a new technology, nano-technology in just one generation may pose the gravest threat, simply because it is non-biological and therefore we have absolutely no natural defenses against it. eventually these factors may SOON make AIDS look like the common cold.

IN THE GREATEST SCIENTIFIC FAUX PAS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY it is learned three decades after the first crude experiments - see Time, dec. 22, 1967 for experiments at stanford - in genetic engineering that there is not just one, but three levels to genetic coding. very recently strong evidence was found that not just D.N.A. but R.N.A. as well transmits genetic information. oops!!! further, are we to trust our safety to those who have a perfect track record of RUTHLESS EXLOITATION of science for profit?

ALL AT THE PRICE OF TRADITIONAL CULTURES, 
self sufficiency is forgotten, crafts and skills that round out and gave warmth to life are lost, the wisdom of one generation is lost to the next, people become unhealthy from simple lack of motivation in their over simplified, packaged world. children have never had respect as autonomous beings and are subject to CONTINUAL, killing emotional abuse and neglect, while the old are casually discarded or herded into the HORRIFIC group confinement of “old age homes”.

g	though indicted in the christmasstime "tickle me elmo" price fixing scandal, elmo was completely exonerated. later it was revealed that all the people convicted were not fuzzy.

there are many ways of encouraging awareness. the hope of the g.c.p. is to present one color in a spectrum, to correct a LACK which has reduced whole movements to confrontationalism, by raising a particular voice to offer the movement new possibilities, and to create a place for hidden talents that may not have been called to other types of actions.

commitment to REACHING OUT is key, as is encouraging SELF EDUCATION.

consider actions IN ALL ASPECTS of your life. from one person to temporary large groups, theatre must present the idea that there are other ways of doing things, that "the system" or "history" is not innocent events but total oppression, horrendous events and tedium and psychological battering that mar the spirit of all humanity. 

KEEP TIGHT
ALL group actions should, like the concept of AFFINITY GROUPS, be based on friendships and mutually held attitudes that have been tested by time.there should be no “crowd” actions.

specifically, study theater, all forms of humor, love and learn from children because ONLY FOOLS DON’T, study an area for new TYPES of venue (one group does guerilla theatre in front of surveillance cameras), how to make both music and loud noises that won't get you arrested most of the time (Noise Parade made traveling spontaneous music, faded and regrouped again and again when the cops showed), by gosh read some poetry if you’re going to write some, learn COSTUMING and SIMPLE AND SAFE CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES, seek out in person the people with the knowledge you need (part of Bread and Puppet is an international apprenticeship), consider ways to at least for a while leave your own cultural artifacts in the cities and byways (there have been groups of guerilla mural painters, leave colorful streamers and messages, paint the side walk pretty colors, leave large mysterious objects in the dead of night, leave candles at night), organize PARADES and GATHERINGS of ALL SIZES that are run PURELY on  g.c.p. principles. ALWAYS SEEK TO LEARN THE TECHNIQUES OF OTHER ACTIONS. 

the ultra secret hidden agenda of the g.c.p. central committee is to be so simple as to attract lots of energy, grow quickly, nudge the dominant paradigm, then fade before the idea can be co-opted.

the main thing is to reach out often,

to risk being ridiculous,

the use of imagination instead of dogma.

karen silkwood is murdered in november 1974. not an activist, but a union member of just three years standing. first, plutonium is found inside her safety equipment. as one co-worker said, “one speck of that and you’re dead, its over.” given documents proving criminal laxity at nuclear facilities, she is driving to a meeting but dies in a “classic single car accident” according to state troopers, but an autopsy shows more than twice the amount of Quaalude in her body necessary to cause unconsciousness and NO DOCUMENTS ARE FOUND IN THE CAR.

judi bari was put in a wheelchair by an explosion on the way to a redwood forest demonstration. the government claimed this earthfirster - see the reading list - was, contrary to her stated principles, about to bomb a nuclear reactor. overwhelming court evidence proved government infiltrators pushed this idea, which was rejected. the government claimed it was her bomb, saying it had rested under her guitar case, but photos introduced by the government clearly show an intact guitar case. the government can provide no information on her attacker even though they gave testimony that she had been under 24 hour surveillance. when the trial is taken from state to federal level the same false evidence is used. later, after she died of cancer, a court will award her estate millions of dollars.

gandhi was killed by a single religious zealot, a hindu that objecticted to making peace with muslims. then again, babasaheb ambedkar, one of the framers of the indian constitution, refused to even speak with ghandi. he had experienced the total discrimination of being an "untouchable", an idea originated by hindus. immediately after obtaining their freedom from britain, hindu and moslem literally soaked the earth of india with each others' blood. this is the origin of the country of pakistan, formerly part of india, a nation of religious refugees.

iraeli prime minister yitzhak rabin, for offering peace to the palestinians was killed by a lone jewish nazi.

national guardsmen were called to a protest at kent state university because the governor claimed there were “outside agitators,” though the university president, widely reported as “sitting down to his second martini,” knew otherwise. without any indication of danger the guardsmen opened fire. four students were killed, 2 of them over a hundred yards away, and 2 who were just passersby, one of whom was 240 yards distant, shot IN THE BACK OF THE NECK. nine more were injured. NO ONE IS EVER PROSECUTED, and mindless public opinion often condoned, even cheered on, the murders. the above amateur photo won a pulitzer prize.  an original ARTICLE.

malcolm-X. though there is doubt that the people jailed for his murder were guilty, malcolm himself, after almost singlehandedly building farrakan's "black muslim" organization, said that he would not live long after his pilgrimage to mecca convinced him that hate and not racism is what divides people.

slaughter at stonehead manor. may 8, 1970, at 2:30 in the morning arville garland charges into a collective house in detroit and shoots his own daughter of 17 and three others while they sleep,  the judge grants him bond. though he went to the house with not just one, but two, weapons, and deliberately searches for a fifth person, what any lawyer would classify as evidence of “clear intent,” one of three absolute requirements for guilt, he claims his purpose had been to remove his daughter. court testimony portrayed him as “a loving father” who also “threatened to chain her if she wasn’t obedient.” TIME magazine runs an article dwelling on his grief, weight loss, and electro-shock after the murders, referring to his daughter only indirectly and as a metaphor, as “youth become incomprehensible.” he received hundreds of letters of sympathy and none of condemnation. with no doubt of the simple fact of his guilt, supported by his own confession, in 1972 his lawyers asked for a ruling of mistrial on five technical  points,  four of which were so absurd as to be fatuous. the fifth was granted, and later overturned, and he served just ten years for killing four people

– that’s two and a half years per person.
